Maintenance of Classic Car Golf Cart and Electric Motor Servicing

Classic Car Golf Cart Motor Maintenance Methods

The motor, being a relatively core component of the golf cart, its normal functioning directly affects the proper use of the entire vehicle, and regular maintenance is the most effective way to ensure its operation.

After six months of use, we need to add lubrication to the bearings and gears inside the motor to increase its running speed and reduce the noise of the motor.

We also need to check the brushes, and if they are severely worn, we must replace them.

Finally, we need to clean the carbon dust inside the brushed motor, clean the surface of the commutator, and the surface of the magnetic steel.

Due to the special structure and material selection, a brushless motor does not require frequent maintenance. Basically, after using it for12-24 months, lubricate the bearings and gears, clean the magnetic steel, and ensure the motor does not get wet.

Check if the magnetic steel of the motor has rust. Remove the rust from the magnetic steel and check the wear level of the brushes and commutator of the golf cart. Generally, the brush should be replaced when it wears down to a distance of4~5mm, and the commutator should be replaced when the surface depth exceeds0.5mm.

Daily Maintenance and Servicing Methods for Classic Car Golf Cart

Daily maintenance can ensure that the classic car golf cart is always in a complete and sound technical state. The primary focus is on inspection and dust removal, including cleaning the surface of the classic car golf cart, checking safety mechanisms, and tightening components.

Daily maintenance can be performed by the driver before leaving the car, on the road, or after receiving the car, without taking up time away from driving.

Daily maintenance only takes a few minutes and ensures driving safety and comfort by eliminating potential hazards. This is very necessary for the driver. Additionally, when inspecting the classic car golf cart, visually inspect the tires.

If the tire pressure is low, use a pressure gauge to measure the tire pressure and inflate as needed to ensure it stays between300-350kPa. Check if wheel bolts are loose or falling off.

Before driving each day, be sure to check if the total voltage of the power battery and brake fluid is sufficient. If it is not, charge the battery or add brake fluid as required.

Check whether the important electrical components of the classic car golf cart are working properly. If there are any issues, they should be repaired immediately.

Clean the inside and outside of the cart, removing dust and dirt from the classic car golf cart. Wipe the body paint, clean the frost, snow, water, and dust off the windshield, mirrors, and exterior lights to ensure they are clean and do not obstruct driving. You can use vacuum cleaners, dusters, or wiping materials for cleaning.
